Damn! Another Audio Edition Gone
I HATE HATE HATE technical problems. They leave me feeling so powerless and stupid. Yesterday Doug and I recorded our daily Audio Edition show for The Movie Blog. I’ve been doing this new thing where I introduce the show and the date first… and THEN then intro music hits.
The problem is… that I usually just do the intro and give the date… then PAUSE the recording… and then unpause it and continue recording the show (I edit the intro music in later). So yesterday I did the same thing… BUT…
When I later went to render out the final MP3 file for the show… only the INTRO came out… the rest of the show just DISAPPEARED! It vanished. Gone. No where to be found. I spent an hour looking around for it… but to no avail.
This is the 4th show I’ve lost in the last 6 months due to some technical problem or internet outage or some stupid thing. It’s really frustrating.
Well… needless to say we’ll be doing the show all in 1 take now… which is probably what we should have been doing in the first place anyway. Grrrrrrrr.

Why dont your create a backup so if it does disappear there is another file you can edit and befor u do that make another one

Bah! I hate it without my daily Movieblog. I demand a double edition, grumble, moan, stupid freaking technical probs - can’t get no justice!!
Comment by Chris Holden — October 12, 2005 @ 7:39 pm
Darn the luck - that is no fun at all!!! Well hopefully you don’t have to go through it again and best of luck with the next one.

What program do you use john?
Comment by miles — October 13, 2005 @ 1:24 pm
Hey there Miles.
The last couple of months I’ve actually been using Adobe Audition… but apparently I haven’t been using it correctly.
Comment by Administrator — October 13, 2005 @ 1:43 pm
i actually use that program, it is great for mixing down and mastering.
it is good program, but glichy.
Cubase is just as easy to use, but more solid, and if you want the ultimate in simplicity, get mixcraft by acoustica, bare bones simplicity there.
Comment by miles — October 13, 2005 @ 3:43 pm
and it sounds like what happened is that you did not mix down your entire session to one track.
It sounds like you went to mixdown mode on just the intro, then saved as an mp3.
